" Problem solving...the Wright Math"
Description
"In The "Wright" Math workshop participants will study NASA Aeronautics and the evolution of flight by using a variety of on line materials. Using the award winning "NASA CONNECT" program they will learn how the Wright Brothers became the first human beings to successfully design, construct, and fly an airplane. Participants will see how Wright Brothers used the 4 tools of aeronautics research to design their airplane. Several simple kites will be constructed and tested. Simple math concepts will be used to calculate the kite's basic performance. Participants will use their data to construct simple graphs and charts to analyze their flight tests. By conducting hands-on and web activities, participants will make connections between NASA research and the mathematics, science, and technology to enhance their teaching in classrooms. Additionally, Newton's Laws and NASA websites will also be reviewed." | Cancelled |
